Frequently Asked Questions
From your WardOrbit dashboard, navigate to Family and tap Add Child Profile. Enter your child's first name and date of birth, then follow the on-screen steps to install the companion app on their device. The process typically takes under five minutes and the profile will appear in your dashboard as soon as the app is connected.
Yes. On the WardOrbit Plus and Family Pro plans, you can link multiple devices to a single child profile. From the child's profile page, tap Add Device and follow the setup instructions. Free plan users are limited to one device per child profile. All linked devices are visible in a unified view with consolidated usage reports.
WardOrbit's companion app is available for both iOS (iPhone and iPad, iOS 15 and above) and Android (version 10 and above). The parent dashboard is accessible via any modern web browser on desktop, as well as through our iOS and Android parent apps. Chromebook support is available on Plus and Family Pro plans via the Android app.
When a child's daily screen time allowance is exhausted, WardOrbit will display a notification on the child's device and, depending on your settings, either lock access to non-essential apps or apply a full device lock. You as the parent will receive a notification as well. You can grant additional time from your parent dashboard at any time, without needing access to the child's device.
Go to your child's profile, select the Location tab, and choose Geofences. Tap Add Geofence, then search for an address or tap on the map to place a zone. Set the radius (50m–5km), name the zone (e.g., "Home", "School"), and choose whether to receive an alert when your child arrives or departs. Alerts arrive as push notifications on your parent device within seconds of the boundary being crossed.
WardOrbit is designed to support transparent family conversations about digital safety. The WardOrbit companion app is visible in the device's app list and settings, so children are aware it is installed. We strongly encourage parents to discuss monitoring openly with their children and explain why it is in place. Covert surveillance of children without their knowledge raises ethical and in some jurisdictions legal concerns — our Help Centre includes age-appropriate guidance on discussing digital safety with your child.
